Trusts & Estates
Melissa Selinger is an attorney in the Madison office of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. and a member of the Trusts & Estates Team. She focuses her practice on estate planning and business succession planning for individuals and families. Ms. Selinger advises clients on a broad range of estate planning matters, from the preparation of basic estate plans to advanced wealth transfer and tax-saving techniques. In addition, she advises clients on corporate, partnership, limited liability company and other strategic transactions to facilitate the growth and continued success of their business interests. Ms. Selinger places much emphasis on her personal connections with her clients and their families. In all cases, her goal is to help her clients achieve their unique personal objectives while minimizing estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer and income taxes.

Ms. Selinger also has significant experience assisting clients with the complicated and often sensitive issues that accompany the probate, estate and trust administration process. She has assisted clients with administration of estates at all levels of complexity, and ranging in value from very modest to extremely high net worth. Whether helping clients through a difficult administration process or planning for a complex family situation, her highly personalized and engaging approach helps make each client's experience a positive one.

Prior to joining WHD, Ms. Selinger practiced in Chicago where she was an active member of the Chicago Bar Association, holding many leadership positions over the years, as well as a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council. She also served as a board member of Metropolitan Family Services (Metro Board) and Chicago Community Trust (Young Professionals Advisory Board), two of Chicago's oldest charities.
